Casa Esme is the result of intense and analytical work, where the main challenge was to develop an architectural project that met the client's needs while maximally respecting the natural environment. The home's orientation is marked by the sea, with the Mediterranean, along with the coast and Portichol Island, the undisputed protagonist of the landscape. This unique setting has profoundly influenced the design, ensuring perfect integration with the surroundings.
The project emphasizes the connection between the interior and exterior spaces, and includes rooms designed for both everyday use and moments of leisure and artistic expression. As is tradition in our studio, three main materials were selected: natural stone, in this case travertine marble, lime mortar, and wood, which together bring warmth and harmony to the home.
The landscaping reinforces this integration, highlighting the presence of native Mediterranean species, which, in addition to beautifying the surroundings, contribute to a respectful fusion with the landscape.
In our current conversations with our client, they have expressed their satisfaction with the daily use of the spaces. Despite being a large home, its functional design allows for everyday use, making the designed program fully understandable in the hands of its users. For us, as architects, this is a fundamental aspect.
